“The Desire to Create is One of the Deepest Yearnings of the Human Soul.”

Even as I sit here and write this intro, I struggle to try and find the words to describe to you why I love crafting or a good DIY-project so much. There is just something so satisfying about the sense of accomplishment upon the completion of your latest Pinterest craft.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE a good trip to Target or Home Goods – my walls are sprinkled with the convenient creations – but if I have the know how and desire to create something I want myself, it almost feels as a deep rooted obligation to bust out the project with my own two hands. There are a million different places I could go order my mason jar planters or wall decor, but again, that satisfaction of holding something in my hands that I came up with in my head, struggled through the creation, and am holding the finished product in my hand… that’s pure joy to me.
That same concept is what sparked my entrepreneurial fire a long time ago and helped me learn something very important about myself. I would rather put in the extra work, be proud of what I have done, and enjoy the fruits of those efforts than use that same fire for someone who refuses to open up their minds to new possibilities and watch them walk away with the products of my energy. I decided to stop living that life and take control of my own abilities and dreams for what could be.
Anyone who has tried to make a living by creating and doing what they love, can tell you it is no easy feat. I have ups and downs, failures and start overs. The best I can do through the tougher times is to dig back down to that flicker of inspiration and remember what it’s like to hold that finished product in my hand.
It is my desire for this ‘DIY Corner’ to have a space to share some of my favorite projects, not only for my heart and seeing what I have to chance to do, but also in hopes that it could spark some ideas or passions for a lost soul like mine that could use a little fun and creation.
